How much does your service cost?

Service starts at just $10 a month and goes up depending on pick-up frequency and recycling volume (commercial accounts are generally more).

What size bins do you offer?

We offer premium, fully warranted, 96 gallon bins. They look terrific, roll easily & are wind resistant.

What if I have more recycling than fits in the bin?

You can order a 2nd or 3rd 96 gal bin from us for either a one-time fee or a small monthly charge. Since we now pick-up using an automated side load truck, there is no way for us to take additional items left curbside which are not contained in your recycling bin.

What is the pick-up schedule in my area?

We have currently changed our pick up schedule to every other week for all areas. For questions or to receive a calendar for your address please email Patty at pattyh@acedisposal.com with your name and address of service.

What is your holiday schedule?

We pick-up on most major holidays; there are only a few holidays that we do not pick-up. When we must cancel a pick-up day because of a holiday YOUR RECYCLING WILL BE PICKED UP ON THE BUSINESS DAY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE HOLIDAY. The days we will not be picking up are:

  • New Years Day, January 1st
  • Independence Day, July 4th
  • Thanksgiving Day, Varies
  • Christmas Day, December 25th

When should I take my bin to the curb for pick-up?

Out truck heads out around 5:00 am each day, so please leave the bin out the night before your scheduled pick-up. Due to overwhelming community support for recycling, some days we are out picking up recycling well into the evening, so please leave the bin out until it has been picked up.

I forgot to put the bin out, can you come back?

Due to tight schedules and thin margins we try to avoid return trips if at all possible, if you can wait until your next pick up, please do, otherwise we’ll circle back to help you out.

Can I arrange a one time, special, or off-schedule pickup?

Yes, special pickups start at $25 and can be arranged by calling our office at: 1-800-208-3389.

Do I need to rinse my recycling?

No, you don’t have to; however it is helpful to keep the bin smelling clean and fresh, so a lot of customers do a quick rinse from time to time.

Do I have to breakdown cardboard boxes?

Yes, please break down boxes and other large items to ensure they fit inside the bin.

Can I put leaves, grass and wood in my bin?

No.

What if I move outside of your service area?

Just call us, we’ll pick up your bin & cancel your service.

How am I billed?

We simply charge your credit card or checking account automatically on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis depending on your preference.

I heard my garbage goes to the burn plant, is that recycling?

Waste going to a burn plant is certainly better than waste going to a landfill; ideally, we’d like to see an item recycled nine or ten times and then possibly be sent to a burn plant where it generates energy. Recycling is valuable because once an item is burned, it’s gone.

I heard the dump removes recyclable materials from my garbage, is that true?

Utah does NOT have any “dirty” MRF’s (Material Recovery Facilities). A dirty MRF is where workers sort the recyclable materials from the trash.

Why do I have to pay to recycle?

Contrary to popular belief, most recycle processing companies no longer pay for recyclables such as paper, plastic and cardboard. There are bins all over the state that will accept your recyclables but don’t pay you for them. We simply offer the service of separating and transporting your recyclables for you, making it easier and more convenient than ever to recycle.

Recycling, particularly household curbside recycling, always costs money. This is because the recycling must be picked up, delivered to a MRF where it it sorted and bailed, then it must be shipped to manufactures that will use the material to make new products. As you can see, it takes a lot of work (and money) to make recycling possible.

Keep in mind that while recycling costs money, so does throwing away trash. Our recycling service almost always cost less than garbage service — and in the long run recycling costs less for everyone.
